Sleepy Oak Productions ("we," "us," or "our") builds the V House and 6x Day apps (the "App") to help people keep a daily contemplative practice — tracking vows, journaling reflections, timing meditation, and connecting with a community of practitioners and teachers. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We designed the App to collect as little personal information as possible.

The short version

• There is no account, password, email login, or social sign-in. The App identifies your device with an anonymous push-notification token and device identifier.

• Your journal entries and meditation logs stay on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

• We collect a small amount of profile information (your name, optional city/country, optional profile photo) so you can take part in community features.

• We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking, and we never sell your data.

Information we collect

First and last name — You enter it during onboarding. Shown to teachers and other community members; identifies meditation/teacher requests.

City and country (optional) — You type it, or tap "Use my location." Shown on the community map. If you use the location button, we obtain an approximate location only long enough to look up your city and country; the precise GPS coordinates are discarded immediately and never stored or transmitted.

Profile photo (optional) — You choose it from your photo library or camera. Shown as your avatar in community features. Stored on Google Cloud Storage.

Email address (V House only, optional) — You enter it to verify donor status. Used once to confirm eligibility for donor-supported features. Not used for marketing.

Push notification token & device identifier — Generated by your device / Firebase Cloud Messaging. Delivers your vow reminders and teacher/community notifications; serves as your anonymous identifier.

Time-zone offset — Read from your device clock, so reminders arrive at the right local time.

Practice preferences — Your in-app choices: vow list, number of daily reminders, reminder times, teacher follow/mute settings, and notification privacy preference.

Meditation statistics — When you use the timer or log a sit. Powers the "sitting now" roster and community/teacher meditation features. Duration and counts only.

Information that stays only on your device

The following is stored locally on your phone and is not sent to us:

• Your journal entries and reflections (positive, negative, and purification notes for each vow)

• Your personal meditation history and logged stages

• Your app-lock PIN and biometric (Face ID / Touch ID) settings

If you choose to flag a daily reflection as inappropriate, the text of that reflection is sent to us for review.

What we do not collect

• No analytics, behavioral tracking, or usage profiling

• No advertising identifiers and no ads

• No Apple Health / HealthKit data

• No contacts, calendar, or microphone access

• No precise/continuous location

How your information is used

We use the information above only to operate the App's features: delivering reminders, showing the community map and roster, connecting students with teachers, verifying donor eligibility (V House), and moderating flagged content. We do not use your information for advertising or profiling.

Who can see your information

• Other users can see your name, optional city/country, and optional profile photo in community features.

• Teachers and administrators can see your name, approval status, account creation date, teacher relationships, and aggregate meditation statistics. They cannot see your journal entries, meditation notes, or email.

• You can enable a privacy ("incognito") preference so notification previews show generic text instead of specific content.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf:

• Google Cloud (Cloud Run & Cloud Storage) — hosts our backend and stores profile photos.

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and Apple Push Notification service — deliver push notifications.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Data retention

We keep your profile information for as long as your device is registered with the App. You can request deletion at any time (see below). Journal and meditation data live only on your device and are removed when you delete the App.

Your choices and rights

• Location, photos, notifications are all optional and requested only when you use the related feature. You can change these in your device Settings at any time.

• Delete your data: email us at vhouses@sleepyoakproductions.com and we will delete the profile information associated with your device. Deleting the App from your phone removes all locally stored data.

• Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise them.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
